Thank you so much, Alexandria. Writing about this, at the time that I did, wasn't something I imagined doing... but I am glad I did it at the time, and while the verdict honestly makes zero sense to me, I'm glad to see so many other outlets and writers have since decided to talk about how despicable and problematic people's reactions to Amber Heard have been.

I'm sorry this case has been hard for you. I'm so glad I could help, even a little.

I think when you see how this has played out since I originally wrote my thoughts, it's undeniable that this case is a massive setback for women everywhere. I can only hope she wins the appeal.

The court surpressed a lot of evidence that was used in the UK case, and the jury was made up of 5 men and only 2 women. The fact that they weren't sequestered is also very shocking.

Yes, they had their weeks in court, but it's a civil case, for one thing. For another, after seeing how many horrific jokes have been made of Heard's testimony, how can it NOT impact victims moving forward? Even IF you didn't believe her, to mock the things she was describing is just heinous.

And the worst part is how many other women were guilty of it... it's just tragically depressing to me.
