And their subsequent weight loss “transformations” are regaled and lauded and used as “examples” of what is possible. Which ignores that a. they’ve put their bodies under tremendous strain (since we know weight cycling IS unhealthy) and b. they were (presumably) naturally thin to start with, so getting back to their normal size isn’t really a shocking “accomplishment,” and c. that they have unrealistic resources and time for these “transformations,” in the sense that this is their career… they’re being paid to do these things, it’s their literal job in those situations.

Not only would it be better to cast ya know, actual fat people, to play the lives of a fat character, it would be healthier for ALL involved.
